PEACE BASKETS

If you’ve spent any time online recently (and let’s be honest…what else have we done in the past 24 months?), you’ve likely seen peace baskets gracing many a social media page. These lovely, handwoven creations have been having a moment in the interior design world and are often seen displayed in large groupings to make a statement feature. They’re also wonderful for corralling remotes on the living room coffee table, and smaller baskets make excellent catch-all dishes for the bedroom.

Woven by had from sisal and other grass fibers, these intricate baskets are a traditional symbol of peace within Rwandan culture. Every…single…bead…has been carefully carved by hand. The resulting bracelets are breathtakingly beautiful with just the right amount of weight and a wonderful, organic feel. The bracelets are available in a variety of natural shades (but there’s something about those gorgeous, white bracelets that just screams Easter) and sizes. We have a couple of exciting new additions to our jewelry line that we think you’re going to absolutely love!

This bag is an all-round great tote but also helps share the story of the women working for Handspun Hope. These totes were custom-created by our friends at Imani Collective in Mombasa, Kenya. Each bag is signed inside by the individual artisan who handcrafted it.

‘Tis the season to start thinking of things to fill out Easter baskets or gift to the person hosting your holiday lunch or dinner.

Each bunny is knitted by the women working for Handspun Hope from a handspun Angora blend and dyed using native Rwandan plants. Isn’t she just the sweetest?
