Stories Of Success At Handspun Hope's Early Education Center!

It’s somewhat unbelievable to us, but our Early Education Center has been operational for a whole year now! After the cement had set, and the beautiful murals had been painted on the classroom walls, and the greatest teachers had been hired, the proverbial halls were filled with the smallest and cutest of students that you can imagine! The preschool-age children of our lovely ladies have had a whole year of learning, fun, and friendship, and we’d love to share some of our favorite success stories with you today - as told by their pleased as punch mothers!

Iteto

My name is Nibagire Olive. I have a child, Iteto Nina Liza Giana, who is cared for at Handspun Hope. She is 1 year and 7 months old and attends the Daycare Program. She joined Handspun Hope when she was 8 months old. Nina joined Handspun Hope at a very young age. Since then, she has made remarkable progress. She has learned to walk, say some words, and sing songs involving numbers. She has also learned about healthy foods such as eggs, porridge, and bananas through the activities and care provided at the center. Compared to other children of the same age in our neighborhood, Nina has shown great improvement in confidence, communication, and social interaction. She is able to interact well with others and is no longer afraid of people. In terms of manners, she knows how to express gratitude and make requests politely. She has also developed self-care skills, including eating independently, putting on and removing her shoes, taking off her clothes when going to the bathroom, and trying to dress herself. Nina has also started speaking English words such as "thank you," "bye," "bravo," "hello," "three," "four," "six," and "eight."

Ishimwe

My name is Musabyimana Beatrice. I have a child, Ishimwe Mucyo Blaise, who is cared for at Handspun Hope. He is 3 years and 6 months old and attends Nursery One. He joined Handspun Hope when he was 2 years and 7 months old. At that time, he was shy, afraid of people, and unable to speak clearly. Today, he is confident, active, and able to communicate clearly. His social skills have improved significantly. He can now interact confidently with his classmates, neighboring children, and adults. He demonstrates good manners, knows how to apologize when he makes mistakes, and shows humility. He has also learned to care for others and to show love, kindness, and respect to those around him. He has developed self-care skills and can independently practice good personal hygiene, dress himself, and put on his clothes and shoes. He has also made significant progress in language development. He communicates well in English, can introduce himself, share what he has learned at school, and speak English confidently. He can also count and introduce himself in French. Overall, he has shown remarkable positive changes and great improvement in his overall development.

Ishimirwe

My name is Dusingizimana Alice. I have a daughter named Ishimirwe Stella Hortence, who is cared for at Handspun Hope. She is 4 years and 3 months old and is currently in Nursery Two, preparing to move to Nursery Three. She joined Handspun Hope when she was 3 years and 8 months old. At that time, she was very shy, afraid of people, and often cried whenever someone talked to her. Today, she has changed so much. She is confident, active, and able to interact well with other people. Her social skills have improved a lot. She now plays freely with her classmates, neighboring children, and adults. When she joined, she did not know any English, but now she can introduce herself, answer simple questions, understand instructions, and communicate in English. She can also count and introduce herself in French. Her behavior has also improved greatly. She now shows love and care for others, shares with friends, follows instructions, apologizes when she makes mistakes, and respects other people. She has also learned to take care of herself by keeping good personal hygiene and putting her clothes in the right place. Academically, she is doing very well, and this makes me very happy. I am grateful that my daughter is studying at Handspun Hope because I know she is receiving a good education in a safe and caring environment. This gives me great peace of mind.

Irakoze & Irasubiza

My name is Uwimana Beatrice, and I have twins named Irakoze Christine and Irasubiza Christian. They are five years old and have been attending Handspun Hope. They are now preparing to join primary school. When they first came to Handspun Hope, they were emotionally affected by the difficult conditions we were living in. Bringing them together at Handspun Hope became a great blessing for our family. Because of the love, care, and support they received from their teachers, they became happy, confident, and comfortable around other people. They have made excellent progress in their studies. They can now communicate well in English and are also learning French. They enjoy learning, interact freely with others, and participate actively in class activities. Their behavior has also changed in a positive way. They have learned to respect others, show kindness and love, apologize when they make mistakes, and share with their friends. They have also become independent in taking care of themselves. They can bathe, brush their teeth, dress themselves, and keep themselves clean.I am very thankful that Handspun Hope is close to my workplace. It has given my children a safe place to learn, grow, and receive a quality education while I work with peace of mind. I truly appreciate the support and care that Handspun Hope has given to my family.
