Bernadette Vest in Ethiopian Cotton
The Bernadette Vest created in our sustainable Ethiopian cotton has an elegant shape and dropped neckline that creates a flattering compliment to silky skirts or well-tailored trousers. Shown in Voca Grey but available in any shade from our natural palette.
This design requires 38 hours for one woman to knit by hand. This time is not inclusive of the laborious task of creating the yarn and hand dyeing it organically. Please allow 8 weeks for the delivery of this custom-created sweater.
Named after Bernadette who works as a spinner for Handspun Hope in northern Rwanda. You can read more about Bernadette and the other women working for the organization here.

Our Ethiopian cotton is sourced from a women's cooperative in Addis Ababa. There, the ladies hand spin cotton on drop spindles. The cotton is then imported into Rwanda where the women working for Handspun Hope ply and dye the yarn.
Handspun Hope is a sustainable fashion brand committed to ethically-sourced materials and minimal environmental impact.
